Shadow League Winners!

Man, we lost sleep over this contest. Some of the toughest decisions we’ve ever had to make. So many brilliant designs are left on the cutting-room floor and it’s chewing me up. But, here they are and just look em! What a gorgeous crew!

I want to thank everyone for submitting. You guys are absolutely some of the most talented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Seriously, 4 years in one of the best art schools in the country and I haven’t seen this concentration of talent. Thank you for your hard work. PLEASE, don’t be discouraged if your design wasn’t selected. PLEASE! Ask a veteran Clinker, sometimes it takes a few Leagues. We love you all!

Merry Christmas to you. Next week we unveil Gyula Németh’s Trick-or-Treats, it’ll go on sale next weekend and it looks spectacular. Kick this weekend’s ass everyone!

  1. Today is a day of mixed emotions for me. I am so disappointed that my Jackalopes or Jesters didn’t win, and disappointed they weren’t even in the top 15! But, I am still very proud of the work and VERY determined to win again. I hate losing. AND, I am very VERY happy for all of the winners. There are some fantastic designs in here. I mean, really great work. El Rays and Curse are probably the two most wearable designs, so I gravitate towards them, but I also really like the Kaiju. Great work to all the winners and non-winners! Can’t wait for the next contest. Hope we don’t have to wait too long.

  2. Interesting selections, disappointed I didnt get a win, but all good, only my first go, next time ey.. Congrats to all the winners.. Only 1 of my 5 votes are in the Winners circle, so Ill defo be gettin me “The Kraken” when it drops..

  3. Congratulations to the winners. There are some sharp-looking designs there! It will be interesting to see how/if these designs evolve from what we see here to the final embroidery.

  4. Congratulations to all! Well 4 of my votes made it in, all of which were shoe-ins in my opinion. I gotta admit there are a few head scratchers there but also a couple that now that I look at them again, are understandable choices.

Unfortunately I just couldnt get into any kind of rhythm with this League for some reason, only managed to squeeze in one entry at the very end which I think were it not for the one color would have come out much nicer. But thats something I need to work on a lot more, so I am thankful for the lesson.

Way to go all you winners, I know how it is to be in the winners circle – its exciting! Enjoy it, now comes the hard part…the waiting!

  5. I forgot to vote! No matter… looks like two of my picks made it anyway, and the third (Efra’s Tikis) got beat out by one-and-a-half of his other designs. Congrats everyone!

  6. YES!!!!!!

I am so excited my design won! I thought I didn’t have a chance because I wasn’t getting love in the comments. This is a great looking group of hats, can wait to see them made!

Thanks so much Casey, Jason and everyone who voted!

  7. Wow.

It is an honor to be recognized by the Clink Room fans. Some really masterful designs left out here that were personal favorites: Gyula’s Squidheads, Kevin’s Jackalopes, Nick’s Yetis, Derek’s Hobos, Aaron’s Nunchucks, Brandon’s Roundabouts, Ryan’s Fugu, and Algot’s Swamp Apes (but thrilled for Algot’s Sloths).

Again, so flattered to be recognized in this collection of entries. Thank you fellas.

  8. Congrats to all the winners. A little dissappointed that the Jesters didn’t make it in there though. That had some of the best use of negative space besisdes being a badass logo. Can’t wait to see the finished products!

  9. Congrats to the winners! Really stiff competition this time around. Some very solid designs in the winners circle.

A bit disappointed my Hobos didn’t get a nod, but ah well, there’s always next time!

  10. Im sorry but I dont agree with 10 out of the 15 winners. Its really disappointing because I thought this was such a promising league. I guess I just have bad tastes…

  11. This is a great set of winners! I would wear 8 of these as is, and three of them with just a few minor changes! What’s great about this league is that it’s ACTUALLY the size of a Major League! Lots of Great Color too! Job well done!

  12. My top 15 shares 9 with these 15. There are a lot of things that can make people like or dislike a design. Color scheme or lack of technical cleanliness will totally turn me off some designs.
Some people were more strict about the 1-color rule. Some probably ignored that in their voting entirely.
Sometimes it’s just the subject matter that turns people on or off. Like, I know a lot of people were real fond of the Dead Jesters design and I agree that it’s very well done, but I just can’t get behind it because every time I see it I just think of ICP. Hey, I kinda live near Detroit. Maybe I just hate juggalos. It’s no knock on Kevin Werther. I really liked the final product for the Jackalope Fire.

  13. Congrats to the winners. Some really nice options. Extra hats off to Haboobs for sailing with the Shadow League concept, and I’ll go on record saying I can’t wait to see Heartbreakers translated into embroidery. Amazing work everyone.

  14. Great looking hats guys, I can’t wait to see them come to life! Hey guys any idea when the next league is going to start up? I just discovered The Clink Room the other day and am pumped to see that a community of sports logo enthusiasts exists. I would love to throw my “hat” in the ring for the next league.
