Blind Cave Shrimp – Now Available

The Clink Room’s fifth limited edition New Era Cap. The Edition features a concept logo taken from our design process with the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Before the fans chose the Hot Rods the Blind Cave Shrimp was in the running. Blind cave shrimp live in the caves below Bowling Green, Kentucky and because of the lack of sunlight have lost their ability to see. We thought the name was so awesome and weird, it had to be immortalized as a Clink Room Edition. Visit the Clink store to own your piece of Minor League Baseball history.

• Each cap is an individually hand numbered, only 150 pieces are being for each Edition.

• The tags are personally signed by the project designers.

• Cap under visors are lined with our signature cork fabric, imported from Italy.

• Editions are identified by a designers pencil over the ear and display the Phase, identifying the phase of the project the logo was sampled from.

UPDATE: We’ve had a few people that had some problems with shipping options and accepting AMEX. Everything is working now. Sincere apologies for any time wasted. If you’re having a problem please email us and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Call for 150 Club – Blind Cave Shrimp

The Bowling Green Blind Cave Shrimp Edition cap drops this Sunday, January 2nd! Finally! That means we need to open The 150 Club. We love the idea of you guys owning a specific number in the Edition. Before we drop the Blind Cave Shrimp Edition on Monday, we’re opening up the 150 Club to new members. Here’s how it works…

• If you have an Edition tag number that you want reserved for you, send us an email requesting the tag number and your size. We will confirm or decline the request. If it’s confirmed, you’re in the The 150 Club. If it’s declined, it’s because that number’s been taken. You may resubmit your request for a tag number as many times as it takes.

Send your requests here…

• When a Edition drops, you will see an option under the size selection menu that says “The 150 Club”. Select that option when buying. We’ll know your name and will have reserved your size and Edition number.

• There are no reto-active claims to numbers. If you join the 150 Club then you own that number from this Edition on. For instance, we can’t give you #67 in a 7 1-4 for the Tulsa Edition.

• We will reserve your Edition number (in your name and your size) for one week after the drop.

• This is for collectors, people that want to have every Edition cap that we drop. If you don’t buy your Edition cap in that first week then your cap will get dumped into the regular inventory and you will be removed from the The 150 Club. I understand that that may sound a little ruthless, but this is an exclusive club.

• The 150 Club only pertains to the signed and numbered Editions. Not the other products that we offer.

Deadline to request membership into the 150 Club for the Blind Cave Shrimp Edition is before the end of the day Monday, January 3rd. Thanks to all the current 150 Club members for they’re loyalty – we love you!

Strange Alt-Mark

This is one of the weirdest alternative marks that we’ve ever done. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s cool as hell. But ideas like this usually hit the cutting room floor. Todd, the guy that runs the Boise Hawks, is a visionary, plain and simple.

Boise Hawks Edition Tease

Our good buddy Nai over at Strictly Fitteds made this awesome teaser video for our next Edition drop! March 22nd look out for it! Great job Nai and everyone at SF!

The song is the new Clink theme song written by the band, and friend of the Clink Room, Scrambler Seequill. I think they did a great job!

You guys are going to hate this but I’m not ready to unveil the next contest. I need to make a logo for the new League. Should we make that a contest too, Design the logo for the new League? What do you guys think? I got a bunch of stuff I’ve gathered from all our teams that we could use as prizes.

Threshers Q n A

This is a cool idea. If any one has any other questions, we’ll be checking in the comments section for the next few days and we’ll update this post with answers.

Eric asked…

“Here we are a couple of years since this project was finished, do you look at the logo set and think “man, I should have done this or should have done that”? Because I figure as the years go by you get better at your craft and when you look back you see ways things could be improved.”

I would have done two things differently. One, is the process, our process of developing a new identity is so methodical now. I feel bad when I think back to all the B.S. that we put the Threshers staff through to develop this identity. I know they didn’t have a bad experience. They’re still some of our favorite clients (I’m writing this year’s TV spots today) and they’re our good friends too. It’s just that our process is more confident now I guess? Not sure the best way to describe it. It’s just more fun, more efficient, more methodical.

The other thing I’d change is uniforms. They’re great looking, don’t get me wrong. Mike Schmidt looks awesome out there. But they’re impractical. It’s the Florida State League. They play in the summer. The jersey material that we had to use to get the color we liked could stop bullets it’s so thick. And the “Threshers” name-plate across the front is like 4 layers of tackle twill, the stiffest material know to man. So you have a thick jersey, with a bar of material across the front, no good. A couple years ago we redesigned the unis, above are they’re current ones. We gave them an alternative sleeveless option and just put the shark on the left front panel.

Anyone else got questions?

Also, a new League starts next week. Monday or Tuesday! Can’t wait.
