Native to North America, the American Black Bear lives in forests, mountains, and even urban areas. They are excellent climbers, swimmers, and can reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. A few years ago I took a vacation to Tennessee and stayed in a cabin in the mountains. As soon as we arrived, and for our entire stay, the American black bears were present. You could tell they were comfortable around humans and were use to being fed by tourists. They were begging for food, climbing trees, sleeping on our porch, and even trying to open car doors when no one was around. We left one of our suitcases on the deck and to our surprise, a black bear got ahold of it and tore it up. Haha. All in all the American black bear is badass, and it was amazing watching them do their thing out there. I got together with Gabe and created our own American badass black bear!
