Born in El Salvador and now living in Toronto, Canada, SierraGonz uses his design talent to honor his Meso-American heritage.

Camazotz is the Maya bat god who originated in mesoamerican mythology as a dangerous cave-dwelling bat creature, described as an anthropomorphized leaf-nosed bat. His name means “death bat” in the Kʼicheʼ language. The Popol Vuh, the sacred Maya creation text, which translates literally as the “Book of the People,” contains one of the most notorious of Camazotz’s tales, in which he encounters the Maya Hero Twins Hunahpú and Xbalanqué in Zotzilaha, the underworld’s house of bats.
