The term Emcee (or MC) in hip-hop culture refers to a vocalist who rhymes over sampling, scratching and mixing supplied by a DJ, one who raps to inform the public. Emcees need to have the ability to 'control' the crowd, and be able to freestyle whatever comes to mind in order to show real skill. Let’s celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop.
