My mother’s side of the family came to the United States from Cuba when she was very young. They left behind everything to start a new life here. Their family story is an inspiring and humbling example to say the least. My mother personally inspired me with her love for the arts and zest for life and she encouraged my scribbles from a very early age. The Havana Tocororos came to me as a concept submission for my hometown minor league baseball team’s Copa De La Diversión alternate uniform. The Copa or “Fun Cup” is a season-long event series specifically designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams' local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities. This one’s for you Mami!!! ¡Vamos Tocororos!
