Charles Island, just off the Connecticut coast, is said to have been cursed on three occasions- once by native tribes, once by Captain Kidd, and once by a band of thieves. Nicknamed “Thrice Cursed Island,” the three layers of bad luck are said to follow those who seek the island’s buried riches, just as the three dangers of High Seas, Swords, and Sea Monsters have befallen this pirate.
