About This Design
Every big hit needs a sequel. So I was inspired, after the massive support of the first Dead Presidents, to create a second piece that features another design of money that isn't paper. I wanted to do Lincoln on the Penny because I feel that is the most recognizable and common image you think of when it comes to coins. And I also wanted to go with a coin because I wanted to create a piece that uses one metallic thread only to embroider the design, in order to let the embroidery speak for itself rather than using multiple colors to create the art. This piece is meant to be a compliment to the original Dead Presidents by combining both sides of money, the green paper and metal coins system.
