The description of Coyote Beadz’s design in her own words.
Coyote within the heart is an Indigenous representation of thousands of years of Luiseño & Cahuilla Creation Stories passed down through oral tradition. It is said that, ‘Coyote stole the Creators Heart and ran off with it and ate it.’ Stories of Creation directly inspired this design and continue to inspire all my outlets of design throughout my beadwork and basketry.
