At the break of dawn throughout New Mexico, the Greater Roadrunner is already on the hunt. As the sky lightens with purples, oranges, and pinks, the roadrunner perches on old weathered fence posts or gnarled fallen trees and surveys the surrounding scrub. Any tiny movements from small mammals, lizards, or snakes, and the roadrunner dashes off to dispatch its breakfast
