About This Design

Forged in Fire is inspired by foundry workers who cast sculptures and other art. This process requires INTENSE heat in a place called a foundry. This is where the sculpture molds are made. So foundry workers make molds and cores by hand or machine, cast molten bronze, and operate furnaces that run thousands of degrees hot! It's VERY dangerous and pretty fascinating. I wanted to create a design that honors these people that work in this dangerous industry just to create art for people like us to enjoy. Originally, this technique of melting bronze originated countless years ago and one of the main areas it originated in was Greece. So to pay homage, I wanted to add a circular border to the design made of leaves that the design lives inside. This aspect of the design is a nod to The Greek Coat of Arms. This was a subtle nod to Greece in the design since it was one of the first places foundries existed. Aurélien did an amazing job on this design especially incorporating aspects of Greece. We hope you like it!
