“I wanted to represent the relationship of nature’s cycles for the Maya; the change from day into night associated with the cycle of life and death. I incorporated the Mayan glyphs Akbal (night) & Ahau (sun god, day) to further ground the design in the inspiration of the Mayan culture.”
