About This Design
The purpose of this design was to honor my youngest son Maddux who has (CAS), Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Apraxia is a speech disorder in which a child has difficulty making accurate movements when speaking. In CAS, the brain struggles to develop plans for speech movement. With this disorder, the speech muscles aren't weak, but they don't perform normally because the brain has difficulty directing or coordinating the movements.
Maddux loves the planets and stars, so the idea was to pick a constellation that portrayed strength, bravery and courage. The Leo constellation was perfect, a lion has a loud roar. That is why a star was placed in the mouth of the lion, one day Maddux too will find his voice and have a loud roar! Like DMX said, "We each have a star, all we have to do is find it. Once you do, everyone who sees it will be blinded."
The star in the lion's mouth is our way of giving hope, to not just Maddux but also to all individuals who have Apraxia. 100% of my profits from this design will be donated under Maddux's name to organizations who help individuals with Apraxia.
