Between Christmas and New Year's, the Mari Lwyd (Grey Mare) visits homes and tries to gain entry through song, which the homeowner denies until giving in, letting the Mari Lwyd and its companions in for food and drink. I've always admired the design and story of the Mari Lwyd.
