About This Design
In literature, Black Knights are outlaws, fighting without a shield to cloak their identity. Since the only thing worse than an evil knight charging at you is an evil knight charging at you with a flaming sword, I have him riding in before a field of fire to really help this character jump off of the page and onto a hat.
