A Mexican designer, who believes that designs inspired by Mexican history and culture are the best way he can help promote a positive vision of México. Jacobo considers it not only a great opportunity as a designer, but also as a responsibility as a Mexican to represent his people and his roots.
The day of the dead is a very special day in which we remember with love and joy our most loved ones who left before us, placing offerings full of their favorite foods and drinks. Unfortunately a couple of months ago my brother died because of the covid, he loved poetry and literature in general. Looking for a way to pay him homage, I remembered a poem written by Nezahualcoyotl, a Mexican monarch also known as the poet king. The poem is named "a memory that I leave behind" and says the following: How should I go? Will I leave nothing behind me on earth? How should my heart act? Do we come to live in vain, to sprout on the earth? Let's leave at least flowers Let's at least leave songs At the end of the road we do not take anything, let us at least leave flowers for those who remain after our departure. This design is my offering to the day of the dead for my brother and all those who went ahead on the road.
