I took my last competitive at bat at the tender age of 14. Halfway through the season, I led my (very bad) team in hitting. With our record in the toilet, our coach decided that practices would no longer include any expertise, fundamentals, or, well, practice. I didn’t get another hit the rest of the season. As a tribute to my youthful futility, I have created The Slumps. A cousin to The Yips and arch rival of The Streaks, Slumps are important to the game of baseball.
